About Us
Tukisigiarvik believes that communities know the best solutions to their problems

Today, the Tukisigiarvik Society offers a variety of programs aimed at enhancing the lives of local residents. One of its main services is the Tukisigiarvik Centre, where individuals can access resources ranging from a daily breakfast and lunch program, laundry and shower facilities, counselling, employment search assistance, and resume writing. Tukisigiarvik also plays a crucial role in preserving Inuit culture and helping to restore personal and societal dignity by offering programs focused on traditional skills like parka and kamik-making, beading, and skin preparation; and land skills development programs that include living on the land and traditional Inuit hunting and gathering practices. Elder advisors and counselors offer guidance to younger generations, fostering intergenerational relationships that help promote pride in the Inuit culture and maintain the cultural fabric of the community. Through its holistic approach, the Tukisigiarvik Society continues to provide a balanced and inclusive environment where Inuit traditions are honored alongside the realities of modern life.

Since 2003, Tukisigiarvik has welcomed more than 122,000 drop-in visitors to the Centre.
